White Sauce BBQ Slaw

Most coleslaws rely on mayonnaise for the dressing, but this one gets its flavor from a White BBQ Sauce. It creates a crisp, tangy slaw that's right at home next to pulled pork, ribs, or smoked chicken.

Ingredients

  • 1 (14-16 oz) bag coleslaw mix
  • 1/2 medium sweet onion, very thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish, drained
  • 2-3 green onions, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons Killer Hogs Gyro Hero Seasoning
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup Killer Hogs White BBQ Sauce

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the coleslaw mix, sliced onion, and sugar.
  2. Toss well and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  3. Transfer the slaw mixture to a colander and drain thoroughly. Press lightly to remove excess liquid.
  4. Return the cabbage mixture to the bowl.
  5. Add the sweet relish and green onions.
  6. Season with Gyro Hero and toss.
  7. Add enough White BBQ Sauce to lightly coat the slaw, starting with 1/2 cup and adding more as needed.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
