BBQ Beanie Weenies

Kids will love it! Adults will love it! BBQ Beanie Weenies were one of my favorite bbq sides growing up, and this recipe I keep those same flavors and just kick it up a little for some DELICIOUS Beanie Weenies

Ingredients

  • 2 cans Bush’s baked beans - 28oz each
  • 4 strips bacon - chopped
  • 1 small onion - diced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper - diced
  • 8 hot dogs - cut into bite size pieces
  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard
  • 1/4 cup Killer Hogs The BBQ Rub
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 18oz BBQ sauce - any cheap sauce will work

Directions

  1. Preheat the pellet grill to 250F degrees - you can use any grill/smoker just run the temp at 250F
  2. Cut the hotdogs into bite size pieces, squirt on some yellow mustard and give them toss to coat. Dust the hotdog bites with The BBQ Rub on all sides.
  3. Place the pan with the hotdog bites on the pit and cook for about 45 minutes or until the rub sticks to the outside.
  4. Brown the bacon pieces and drain on paper towel.  Pour off the grease leaving about a Tablespoon in the skillet and add the pepper and onion.  Cook until soft about 5 minutes.
  5. Remove the hotdog bites from the grill and add the pepper and onion, bacon, 2 cans of Bush's Original beans drained, brown sugar, honey, and the bbq sauce.  Stir everything together and season with The BBQ Rub.
  6. Cook the pan of beanie weenies for 2 hours at 250F degrees and serve.

Malcolm I love to cook. I’m in the hvac business so I don’t have time to bbq or grill as much as I would like. You have made it real easy for people like myself to be able to bbq. The way you explain how to cook is very easy to follow. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge of how to bbq right!
