Ingredients

2-28oz cans Bush's Baked Beans

1-14oz can Apple Pie Filling

1lb breakfast sausage
-
1/2 medium onion chopped
-
1/2 red bell pepper chopped

1 cup brown sugar
-
16oz BBQ sauce (use the cheap stuff)

1 Tablespoon yellow mustard
-
1 Tablespoon W Sauce or Worcestershire Sauce
-
2 Tablespoons Killer Hogs Hot BBQ Rub
Directions
Prepare smoker for indirect cooking at 250-275°F
Open and drain the cans of baked beans. Brown the sausage with the onions and bell pepper.
Pour the beans into a large dutch oven cast iron pot. Add the sausage mixture along with the can of apple pie filling. Stir gently to combine.
Add the bbq sauce, brown sugar mustard, W sauce, and hot rub and gently stir again to incorporate.
Place the dutch oven on the pit and smoke for 2 hours stirring occasionally.
Serve warm with your favorite smoked meats.
Really unique (delivious) take on baked beans. Very quick to prepare.
I’ve made these twice already and everyone LOVED them. I’m making them again for Christmas dinner. They are awesome!!! Just for anyone that doesn’t have a smoker I made them on the stove and just let them simmer on low for a couple hours they were still delicious!

I make this on a regular basis for dinner or a friend gathering. Awesome. I use a bigger can of apple pie filling and dice the apples so they spread out better. I add an additional pound of sausage when making it a main course. Thanks
