Ingredients
-
2 cups Diced Sweet Onion
-
1 Tablespoon minced garlic
-
1 Tablespoon Butter
-
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
-
16oz Sour Cream
-
½ cup Blue Plate mayonnaise
- 1 package Lipton onion soup mix
-
1/2 Tablespoon Killer Hogs Steak Rub
- Fresh chives for garnish
Directions
Add a drizzle of olive oil and a pat of butter to a sauté pan over medium heat.
- Dice two sweet onions (about 2 cups) and add to the pan. Season with salt and sauté until the onions start to caramelize about 4-5 minutes.
Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute. Transfer the caramelized onions to a paper towel-lined plate to cool.
In a large bowl, add the sour cream, onion soup mix, and mayo. Stir to combine and season with the steak rub. Fold in the caramelized onions and rest for at least one hour in the refrigerator.
Before serving, garnish the dip with finely chopped chives and serve with your favorite chips or crackers
