My name is Malcom Reed and Barbecue is my LIFE.
I cook at home, I make videos, and I’ve spent years around barbecue in just about every way you can.
I started cooking competition BBQ back in 2002, and that pushed me to learn on a whole different level. Over the years, I’ve cooked on a lot of different grills, tried a lot of different recipes, and spent a whole lot of time figuring out what really works.
I’ve always looked at myself as a student of BBQ, because no matter how long you’ve been doing it, there’s always something else to learn.
From our little kitchen table to over 1 million followers
I started barbecue competitions in 2002 and it didn’t take long for this hobby to develop into a full-blown addiction.
When I met my wife, Rachelle, she encouraged me to follow my passion for BBQ and we started a business 18 years ago with no money, no connections… just a love for what we do.
We’ve built this business from the ground-up, from mixing our first batches of rub on our kitchen table to shipping every order from our 2-car garage.
Over the years, it’s grown a lot more than we ever expected. What started with a few videos has turned into millions of people following along across YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook… and folks cooking these recipes all over the country.
The Killer Hogs Barbecue and HowToBBQRight brands have grown right along with it. We’ve been able to do a podcast, teach BBQ classes, and even open our retail store, Malcom’s Shop in Hernando, Mississippi.
